Caprice Closes Doors; Next Door, Crosby’s Takes Over Cafe

Caprice Restaurant, at 455 Main Street, has closed up shop. According to a note on the door, it is closed for renovations. The restaurant is owned by Kostas Karampetsos, who also owns Tavern by the Sea in Wickford. Karampetsos could not be reached for comment Wednesday.

Right across the street, Jim Crosby has taken over the former Village Cafe. His Crosby’s Cafe is open daily at 7 a.m., until 2 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, and until 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. 

The cozy restaurant offers a full breakfast menu as well as soups, sandwiches and specials such as lobster rolls. You can bring your own wine or beer and there’s wifi too. 

Crosby’s Cafe, 431 Main St., East Greenwich, 401-884-2499. Open Sunday-Wednesday 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday-Saturday 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
