Obituary: Mei-Heung (Yuen) Leung, 91

Mei-Heung (Yuen) Leung, 91, a longtime resident of East Greenwich, died Sunday August 31, at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Hong-Cheuk Leung.

Born in Ngau-Rue Village, Toi Shan, Canton, China, a daughter of the late Fook-Nan and Ngan-Oi (Ngai) Yuen, she had worked for many years at the Cathay Garden Restaurant in East Greenwich. She was a member of the Chinese Christian Church of Rhode Island, Pawtucket.

She is survived by four sons: Wah Fai & his wife Wui Ying Leung of High Point, N.C.; Tin Wah & his wife Wai Ying Leung of East Greenwich; Heung Wah & his wife May Leung of Lexington, Mass., and Kau Wah & his wife Soo Kam Leung of Folsom, Calif.; one daughter: Pui Wan Henderson, the wife of the late Thomas Henderson, of Asheville, N.C.; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be Saturday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m. in the Chinese Christian Church of R.I., 333 Roosevelt Ave., Pawtucket. Calling hours Friday, Sept. 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park, Middletown.
