First Day of School: Summer isn’t quite over yet but school starts today regardless. We’ve put together a collection of EG public school info here. Here’s to a good year!

Route 2 closed: Route 2 from Division Street to just south of James P. Murphy Industrial Highway in West Warwick will be closed to replace the Barton Corner Route 95 bridge today from noon to 4 p.m. Find out more about the installation of a new Route 95 (Barton Corner) bridge over Route 2 here.

Thursday, Aug. 28

Municipal Court: Court is in session in Council Chambers, Town Hall, Thursday at 6 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 29

Goddard Park Farmers Market: Among the vendors at the Goddard Park market, several farmers, bakers (both for humans and dogs!), crafts, fish and poultry. Fridays through Oct. 31. 375 Ives Road. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Summer’s End: It’s the 19th annual Summer’s End concert at Eldredge Field, with the Navy Band. Gates open at 5 p.m. Free, but donations are encouraged. Read more here.
