EG’s Maddie Omicioli captured the Girls Tennis Singles State Championship Sunday at Slater Park in Pawtucket, beating reigning state champion Candice Ballarin from Moses Brown, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3. It was a sweet moment for the sophomore, who had to sit out much of last year after an injury.  Omicioli becomes the fifth state singles champion in seven years for the Lady Avengers.
