Saturday, Oct. 11

First Baptist’s Fall Rummage Sale: The First Baptist Church on Peirce Street is holding its annual Fall Rummage Sale. We will have very good, almost new clothing for all sizes and all ages.  Also, handbags and shoes. We have many shirts, pants and suits for men. Books on every subject, toys for the children, jewelry for the ladies, and even small furniture, electronics, and small appliances. Our linens are very clean and in perfect condition. Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.

Comedian Paul D’Angelo @ Odeum: Paul D’Angelo, called “the funniest entertainer you’ve never heard of … yet,” by the Los Angeles Times, appears at the Odeum in October, the second of four comedians appearing at the Odeum this fall. In November, it’s Jim Colliton, who has appeared on Ed McMahon’s “Next Big Star,” Comcast’s “Comedy Spotlight,” Comedy Central’s “Laugh Riots” and XM Satellite Radio’s Comedy Channel. And rounding it out in December is Ken Rogerson from this season’s “Last Comic Standing,” “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” and “The Late Show with David Letterman.” Tickets for individual shows are $15 or buy all four for $40. Tickets for all the shows can be purchased online at or by calling the box office at (401) 885-4000. Tickets can also be purchased at Main Street Music, at 4 King St. from noon to 6 p.m. Mon-Fri.
