Opioid abuse has quickly become a national epidemic. Over the last decade thousands have lost their lives while communities struggle trying to find answers.
The East Greenwich Drug Program has partnered with a number of state and local organizations to address the opioid crisis. On Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 6 to 9 p.m., Swift Community Center will be the site for a program designed to create additional awareness regarding a major concern.
Substance abuse does not occur in a vacuum and many factors need to be considered to help ameliorate the misuse of powerful substances. When communities work together solutions often ensue. So, please attend an event that will include information tables, expert panelists, and the opportunity to offer input through questions and brainstorming. East Greenwich is experiencing some of the same concerns the rest of the nation battles. Being proactive offers viable solutions.
