Strong Wind Gusts Cause Power Outage Wednesday Night

Residents from several neighborhoods east of Route 2 reported power outages Wednesday night following very strong wind gusts at around 8:45 p.m. According to National Grid’s power outage map, the outage affected more than 1,000 customers and encompassed much of Main Street to Post Road, Division Street to the Howland Drive area and Middle Road east.

The EG Police Station was reported out of power as was Hanaford School.

Power was restored by 10:30 p.m.

    Kudos to the nationalgrid guys who managed to restore power in a relatively short period of time..

    You never realize how dependent we are on electricity until we lose it !
