by | Dec 4, 2014

The East Greenwich Historic Cemetery Advisory Commission is pleased to announce the recent contribution of $200 from local VFW Post 8018. Post commander Rodney Leighton and Post Quartermaster Alan Beaumier presented the commission with the check at our Dec. 2 meeting. The contribution will go towards the commission’s ongoing efforts towards cleaning and restoring East Greenwich’s 95 historic cemeteries, including equipment maintenance and supplies.

The commission is extremely grateful for this contribution and looks forward to continuing its mission.

“It is our goal in the East Greenwich Historic Cemetery Commission to help preserve the rich history of the town, and the memory of the individuals that helped make it what it is today,” said Commission Chair Deron Murphy about the donation. “Many of those individuals served our town, state and country with great dignity and honor. On behalf of the commission, I would like to thank the members of VFW Post 8018 for their generous contribution towards our continued efforts.”

Jason Beaumier is a member of the EG Historic Cemetery Commission.
