Recycling is ON this week.

School Committee meeting: The panel is holding another of its strategic planning workshops. In the library at Cole Middle School. 6 p.m.

Zoning Board meeting: On the agenda, the board will hear from the developer of a land-locked property on New London Turnpike (on the border with Coventry) who is seeking to build a 6,000 sq. foot corporate headquarters and a 4,000 sq. foot animal shelter. At Town Hall. 7 p.m.

R.I. Assoc. of Democratic City & Town Chairpersons: The regular monthly meeting of the Rhode Island Association of Democratic City and Town Chairpersons is hosted by the East Greenwich Democratic Town Committee Wednesday at 1149 Restaurant. Bereaved Parents meeting: The Rhode Island chapter of Bereaved Parents meets Tuesday for its monthly meeting. The group offers resources to bereaved parents, grandparents and adult siblings. You can learn more about the group at their Facebook page here. At the Kingston Congregational Church in Kingston (across from the entrance to URI). 7 to 9 p.m.

Social Responsibility & Social Networking: As social media continues to evolve and digital platforms become increasingly utilized for education, students, parents, educators, and communities need to be prepared for this new and constantly evolving digital environment. In an effort to educate students of both the perils and opportunities that exist, members of the EGHS, Cole, Eldredge, and Hanaford PTGs, Citizens Who Care, and Bob Houghtaling present Dr. Larry Fillipelli, who will talk about the social responsibilities with social networking. Topics discussed will also include the dangers of posting inappropriate pictures and messages on social networking sites, sexting and the consequences of poor behavior choices online. At Cole Middle School. 7 p.m.

Clown Town this Saturday: This is Clown Town’s 49th year. Put on by the Greenwich Bay Women’s Club, Clown Town is a day of fun and games for children. In the auditorium and dining room at St. Luke’s Church on Peirce Street. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
