Ad Hoc ‘School Calendar’ Community Forum: The first of two community forums on the academic calendar (should school start after Labor Day? should the February and April vacations be combined? questions like these… ). In the library at Cole Middle School (2nd floor), at 7 p.m. All are welcome.
‘Naked Parenting’ book signing: EG’s own Leah DeCesare will be at Symposium Books, 1000 Division St. (near Panera) talking about and signing her book about parenting, “Naked Parenting.” From 6 to 7 p.m.
Mummenschanz/FirstWorks 2015: Mummenschanz, the Swiss mask troupe that revolutionized wordless theatrical entertainment, kicks off FirstWorks 2015 at Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Providence at 7 p.m. Tickets are $28, available at first-works.org or 401-421-ARTS.

Global Game Jam @ NEIT: The official kick-off takes place at 3 p.m. and goes through the weekend. Registration for this event is free but participants must be 18 years of age or older. Holistic Wellness Day @ EG Free Library: The Friends of the East Greenwich Free Library are hosting a Holistic Wellness Day Start 2015 off in a healthy way, with tips to fuel your body and mind, and to keep your home organized for the new year. Presenters include Katie McDonald of BNourished and professional organizer and EG resident Kristin MacRae.
