Monday, June 16

EG Free Library 100th Anniversary Committee meeting: If you are interested in helping to celebrate EG Free Library’s 100 years on Peirce and Church streets, come to the regular planning meeting (the third Monday of the month). 1:30 p.m. at the library. To meet 3rd 6/16/14 Regular Monday Meeting 1:30-2:30 Monday of month at 1:30pm at the library.

EG Historic Preservation Society meeting: John Coduri, Linda Smith Chaffee and Ellen Madison will tell the story of the Westerly granite industry at the monthly meeting of the East Greenwich Historic Preservation Society. The three are co-authors of “Built from Stone” and direct descendants of founders of Westerly granite companies. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries Westerly granite was used on hundreds of important buildings and monuments in the United States. The meeting begins with a potluck supper at 6:30 at the Old Jail, 110 King St. The program begins at 7:30. Both are free and open to the public. New Senior Project Explained: There will be an informational session to go over in detail the new four pathways now available for the Class of 2015 to fulfill their Senior Project requirements. Sponsored by the Friends of the EG Free Library and the Main Street Association. Meet at the library at 1 p.m. (but call first!).

Tuesday, June 17

Municipal Land Trust: The panel meets in the conference room across from Council Chambers in Town Hall. Here’s the agenda. 6:30 p.m.

School Committee meeting: On the agenda are discussions of the ad hoc committees on full-day kindergarten and the school calendar. The full agenda is here. In the library at Cole Middle School

Wednesday, June 18

EG Free Library Trustees meeting: The group meets at 4:30 p.m. at the library (natch!).

Support EGHS Sailing at Rasa: The Avenger Sailing team does not get funding from the school district, so it relies on private fundraisers like this one at Rasa. Pay $20 and get a coupon for a beer or wine and appetizers between 4 and 6 p.m.

Planning Board meeting: The panel will hold a public hearing on the town’s hazard mitigation plan. You’ll find the full agenda here. Town Hall. 7 p.m.

Thursday, June 19

Tax Sale: The town will auction off those properties with delinquent property tax bills in Council Chambers at Town Hall at 1 p.m.

Kent Co. Water Authority board meeting: At the KCWA headquarters, 1072 Main St., West Warwick. You can see the agenda here. 3:30 p.m.

Friday, June 20

Goddard Park Farmers Market: The farmers market at Goddard Park is open for the season (through Halloween). Here’s more information about the market and vendors. Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

EGSD Health & Wellness Subcommittee meeting: The panel meets at the school department – here’s the agenda. 111 Peirce St. 4:15 p.m.
