Goddard Park Farmers Market: The farmers market at Goddard Park is open through Halloween and offers a wide variety of products. Here’s more information about the market and vendors. Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Football anyone? The season starts next week, but NK Jaguars still have space in the 5 to 7 and 12 to 14 age ranges. The Jaguars have adopted the Head’s Up Football program this year, to help keeps players safe. For more information, contact Paul Zarrella, 741-6749 or [email protected].

Saturday, Aug. 2

One-Act Play Festival: A fun, family-friendly evening featuring eight original one acts written by national playwrights. All ages will enjoy this summer’s lineup: light-hearted comedies, relationship pieces, free hugs, an ensemble cast of bugs, and more. Theatre 82, 82 Rolfe Square, Cranston. Voter Registration drive: Cardi’s Furniture on Route 2 is holding a voter registration drive together with the Rhode Island Secretary of State’s office, from 10 a.m. to noon. If you’re not sure of your status, click here.

Sunday, Aug. 3

EG Animal Protection League open house: Every Sunday, the EGAPL opens its doors so people can meet the dogs and cats in need of permanent homes. You can find videos of some of the animals available for adoption here. At a NEW LOCATION: EG Animal Hospital, 4302 Post Road. 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

EG Canoe Race: This benefit for Special Olympics Rhode Island takes place at Finn’s Harborside. Registration starts at 11:30 a.m., the races begin at 12:30 p.m. There will be live music by The Senders, starting at 4 p.m.
