Free Odeum tickets: COA has 25 pairs of tickets to give away to the Odeum’s fun-filled musical, storytelling, juggling and magic extravaganza Saturday, Oct. 18, with Paul Helou and Robert Clarke. To be eligible to win, “like” or “share” COA on Facebook. The first 25 people will win 2 tickets each! Looking for questions for candidates: EG News is presenting two candidates forums, for Town Council and School Committee members on Thursday, Oct. 16 (council candidates at 6 and school candidates at 7:30 p.m.) and on Monday, Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. for the two candidates for state Sen. Dist. 35 – Republican Mark Gee and Democrat James Callaghan. Both events take place at New England Tech and are sponsored by the EG Chamber of Commerce. Halloween costume drive: The All Children Matter club at EGHS is holding a used Halloween costume drive, together with DCYF and Foster Foward. Bring your gently used costumes to the high school front entrance through Oct. 13. They are also collecting pajamas, coats and other winter items through Dec. 5. Register for next historic cemetery cleanup: The EG Historic Cemetery Commission has just come off the heels of a successful September cleanup, grateful to over 60 volunteers. Friday, Oct. 10

Goddard Park Farmers Market: Among the vendors at the Goddard Park market, several farmers, bakers (both for humans and dogs!), crafts, fish and poultry. Fridays through Oct. 31. 375 Ives Road. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Brown Bag Lunchtime Concert: The East Greenwich Parks & Recreation Department will host the final Brown Bag lunchtime concert on Friday, June 10th. Tables and chairs will be set up on the lawn so grab a sandwich from a local restaurant or deli or bring along a bag lunch. The free concert will feature the Caraher Brothers who will perform pop and rock music. from 12 noon-1:30pm on the lawn at Town Hall.

Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.

Bring Your Own Improv: Bring Your Own Improv (BYOI) is in its seventh season at the Warwick Art Museum. This interactive improv show welcomes voluntary audience participation. You can participate in one of three ways: Applaud at a scene you like, yell out fantastic suggestions, or if you feel you’re ready, jump up and get involved with the players on the stage. Teens and up are welcome. 3259 Post Rd., Warwick. 9 p.m. $7.

First Baptist’s Fall Rummage Sale: The First Baptist Church on Peirce Street is holding its annual Fall Rummage Sale. We will have very good, almost new clothing for all sizes and all ages.  Also, handbags and shoes. We have many shirts, pants and suits for men. Books on every subject, toys for the children, jewelry for the ladies, and even small furniture, electronics, and small appliances. Our linens are very clean and in perfect condition. Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.

Comedian Paul D’Angelo @ Odeum: Paul D’Angelo, called “the funniest entertainer you’ve never heard of … yet,” by the Los Angeles Times, appears at the Odeum in October, the second of four comedians appearing at the Odeum this fall. In November, it’s Jim Colliton, who has appeared on Ed McMahon’s “Next Big Star,” Comcast’s “Comedy Spotlight,” Comedy Central’s “Laugh Riots” and XM Satellite Radio’s Comedy Channel. And rounding it out in December is Ken Rogerson from this season’s “Last Comic Standing,” “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” and “The Late Show with David Letterman.” Tickets for individual shows are $15 or buy all four for $40. Tickets for all the shows can be purchased online at www.TheOdeum.org or by calling the box office at (401) 885-4000. Tickets can also be purchased at Main Street Music, at 4 King St. from noon to 6 p.m. Mon-Fri.
