Financial Town Meeting: The annual FTM is an opportunity for registered voters of the Town of East Greenwich to vote directly on the proposed $59.8 million budget for fiscal year 2015. But here’s the catch: there have to be at least 250 people in attendance, something that hasn’t happened in more than a decade. Without a quorum, the budget passes into law as proposed. In the auditorium at Town Hall. 6:30 p.m. Here’s the agenda.

Girls Softball state championship Game One: The Avengers are up against West Warwick in the Division II state final, best of three games, with the first game tonight at Rhode Island College. 6 p.m.

Wednesday, June 11

Primary disaffiliation deadline: If you want to vote in a particular party primary this September but are affiliated with another party, you must disaffiliate at least 90 days prior to the primary – that means by today. You can do that at the Town Clerk’s office at Town Hall, open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

EGHS PTG meeting: They will be voting on next year’s officers and committee chairs as well as presenting the budget for the 2014-15 school year. If you have any questions, contact Tricia Colgan, [email protected]. In the Guidance Office at the high school. 9:30 a.m.

Quahoggers Jamboree: Celebrate quahogging at the Warwick Public Library at the third annual “Quahoggers Jamboree.” The free event offers members of the public to explore a quahogger’s boat, talk to fishermen, listen to music and enjoy light refreshments in the library’s courtyard. Read more about it here.

Historic District Commission meeting: Two residential replacement projects are on the agenda. In Council Chambers at Town Hall. 6 p.m.

Board of Assessment Review meeting: The panel will hear appeals from three residents of Sarah’s Trace, all of whom are suing the town over damage to their houses they say was caused by construction of the new Cole Middle School. You’ll find the full agenda here. In the conference room across from Council Chambers in Town Hall. 6 p.m.

Thursday, June 12

CWC meeting: The Citizens Who Care group will hear a presentation about How a local RI community successfully executes an After Prom Event. We invite you to attend if you’d like to learn more about a spectacular event that keeps kids safe on what has been historically a very high-risk night. Citizens Who Care is open to the public and all are welcome and encouraged to attend. At the EG Police Station in the community room. 10 a.m.

Symposium Young Adults Book Group: Young, old and everyone in between is welcome to attend the very first meeting of this book group at Symposium Books, 1000 Division St. The first discussion will be on “The Fault In Our Stars,” by John Green. 5 p.m.

Friday, June 13

Goddard Park Farmers Market: The farmers market at Goddard Park is open for the season (through Halloween). Here’s more information about the market and vendors. Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Brown Bag Concert Series: The Innovations, a swing group, will play in front of Town Hall in the first of the EG Parks & Rec lunchtime concert series. Bring your lunch up onto the lawn or find a nearby spot and enjoy the music. The May concert, featuring Branded, was rained out and has been rescheduled to June 17. Other dates include July 11 (Johnny Edwards Power of Soul), Sept. 12 (In Tandem), and Oct. 10 (Caraher Brothers). There is NO concert in August. The concerts are sponsored by the EG Parks & Recreation Department. If rain is in the forecast, you can check if the concert is on by calling 886-8626, ext. 1.

Teen Center: The gymnasium at Eldredge Elementary is open most every Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. for teenagers looking to shoot some hoops or some bull. All are welcome. To learn more, check out the F.A.C.E.S. website here.
