Monday, Aug. 25

EG Farmers Market’s ‘Dog Days of Summah!’: Calling all four-footed friends, the market – here every Monday afternoon into October – is holding a special Dog Days this Monday, Aug. 25. From 3 to 6 p.m. at Academy Field. Read more about the market here.

School Committee meeting: The panel is holding a special meeting to vote on two teacher appointments and one resignation. Find the agenda here. Supt. Office, 111 Peirce St. 6:30 p.m.

Town Council meeting: On the agenda, the panel will consider granting a liquor license to Regency Cigar on Main Street as well as a celebration of Mrs. Mary Marden, who turned 100 years old on Aug. 10. The meeting is held at Town Hall. 6:30 p.m.

Route 2 closed: Route 2 from Division Street to just south of James P. Murphy Industrial Highway in West Warwick will be closed for bridge demolition, Monday night from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday. Find out more about the installation of a new Route 95 (Barton Corner) bridge over Route 2 here.

East Greenwich Little League Fall Ball signup: EG Junior/Senior Fall Ball registration is open at EGLLRI.com, for players age 12 to 16. (League age is as of 4/30/14). The season runs from the end of August to mid-October, with one game on a weeknight and one on a weekend. EG Hoops registration: Registration for the 2014/2015 East Greenwich Basketball Association season has begun! To register, visit www.eghoops.com and click on the registration tab on the right side of the page. Any returning player should have their information already in the system and only need to answer a few consent questions and pay the registration fee.
