Thursday, March 13

EG Animal Protection League meeting: The EGAPL’s monthly meeting takes place in the Community Room at the Police Station. 6 p.m.

Municipal Court: At Town Hall. 6 p.m.

EGHS Talent Show: Two shows, one on Thursday, one on Friday, featuring more than 60 talented high school students. It’s a celebration. Tickets are $10 or a $15 combo ticket for both nights. EGHS auditorium. 7 p.m.

Friday, March 14

EGHS Talent Show: The second talent show takes place Friday, featuring more than 60 talented high school students. It’s a celebration. Tickets, $10, are available at the door. EGHS auditorium. 7 p.m.

EG Little League: There’s still time to sign up for Little League Baseball, Softball and Tee Ball (and Junior/Senior league, see below). Registration is open to all boys and girls from 4 years old and up. Also, EGLL is accepting registrations for a Challenger Division that is tailored for children that may be challenged physically or mentally. EG Little League Junior/Senior league signups: The Junior/Senior league (ages 13-16) runs from mid-April to mid-June, with the chance to play on a tournament team after the season. Saturday, March 15

Winter Farmers Market: The Coastal Growers Winter Farmers Market is open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a wide variety of vendors, including Pat’s Pastured, Besto Pesto, Robin Hollow Farm and the Local Catch, to name a few. They also feature live music, with tables where you can listen to music and eat some yummy local fare. At the Lafayette Mill, 650 Ten Rod Road, North Kingstown.

All-Star Basketball at EGHS: A High School All-Star game held at East Greenwich High School (2eZ All-Star Game), to benefit Meeting Street School and 11-year-old Jake Downey, the son of EGHS P.E. teacher and Baseball coach Bob Downey. The list of expected participants is impressive, including Friar recruits Paschal Chukwu and target Donovan Mitchell…plus many other notables. There will be a dunk contest as well, prior to tip off at 5:00 pm. $10 admission, and includes a chance to win Celtics tickets. For information, visit ribasketball.com.

Sunday, March 16

EG Animal Protection League Open House: Every Sunday, the EGAPL opens its doors so people can meet the dogs and cats in need of permanent homes. You can find videos of some of the animals available for adoption here. At Greenwich Bay Animal Hospital, 5732 Post Road. 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Local author Wendy Fachon at Symposium: EG’s Wendy Fachon has just written her first children’s book. She’ll be at Symposium Books, 1000 Division St., on Sunday, reading every half hour followed by signings. 3 to 5 p.m.
