Summer is here and in East Greenwich that means music on Academy Field is back! And this year, all five Thursday evening concerts will feature food trucks.
This Thursday brings more than just bluegrass to Academy though. There’s also the Arts on Main Stroll, which includes “Chalk the Block,” where interested parties can express themselves through chalk on the street. It’s a fleeting but highly satisfying way to flex your creative muscle. Find out more here.
The Arts on Main Stroll is this season’s second and features a number of artists displaying their work. Some may even be painting right on Main Street! Head over to Town Hall and Peirce Street to check out the chalk artists. You can even vote for your favorites.
The action starts at 5 p.m. and goes until 8. For the full Stroll schedule, click here.
Bluegrass band Greystone Rail is the first of five musical acts to take to the stage at Academy Field this summer. Since the Fourth of July falls on a Thursday this year, the series starts early and will go all the way to Aug. 1.
Music at Academy Field starts at 6:30 and ends at 8 p.m. The food truck will open at 6 p.m. The concerts are free. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs or both, but leave your pets at home please.
The rest of the Academy Field concerts:
July 11 – Nightlife Orchestra (big band)
July 18 – Acoustic Dream (classic rock)
July 25 – Cee Cee & the Riders (blues & old time rock-n-roll)
Aug. 1 – Rockin’ Soul Horns (rhythm & blues)
