CCK Community Supper – Once a month, the community is invited to supper in the dining room at St. Luke’s church on Peirce Street. Various local churches take turns providing the food and volunteers. This month, the meal comes one week early, since the last Monday of December this year is Christmas. All are welcome. Free will donations are accepted. 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Joint Town Council–School Committee meeting – The two public bodies meet in a Town Charter-required session to initiate budget discussions for fiscal year 2019, which will begin July 1. But there’s more to talk about than just next year’s budget – in particular, aspects of this year’s budget, including the school’s outstanding sewer bill and what exactly the town requires for the schools to get additional funding. Here’s the agenda. The joint meeting starts at 7 but the Town Council will meet first at 6 p.m. to discuss the town manager search. At Swift Community Center.

Tuesday, Dec. 19

School Committee meeting – On the agenda, a vote on a three-year contract with the paraprofessional union (paras are school employees who fulfill a variety of roles from school secretary to classroom aide) and the review and possible vote on meal credit limits. In additional, they will be discussing topics covered in the joint session with the Town Council (see above).

Wednesday, Dec. 20

Lunch on the Hill – If you are looking for some good food and company, stop by the dining room at St. Luke’s Church on Peirce Street where you will find both. A free lunch is offered every week, sponsored by various local churches and restaurants – a different church-restaurant combination each week. From 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
