Summer Means Sidewalks and Road Repaving

by | Aug 8, 2019

Kenyon road repaving.

When it comes to road repaving and sidewalk repair in East Greenwich, there’s always more work than budget. Still, the town has projects on the to-do list every year. As soon as school lets out, the work begins. This summer, the first project was Kenyon Street (Middle Street to most of us) between Hyland and Cedar avenues. As crucial as that artery is in town, the work proceeded relatively quickly.

For the past couple of weeks, Greene Street has been under construction, with new sidewalks, new curbing and a new road surface, as well as a new drainage system to prevent excessive icing during the winter months.

Also on the wish list for this year is the sidewalk on Division Street between Main and Rector streets. That work has not yet started. Fingers crossed.

What’s the condition of your street and/or sidewalk? Let us know!
