Savory Grape’s Granatiero Named Board Chair For RI Heart Assoc.

The American Heart Association has appointed of EG resident and local businesswoman Jessica Granatiero, as chairwoman of its Rhode Island board of directors. Granatiero owns The Savory Grape wine shop and the event-planning company, The Savory Affair.

“I have had the pleasure of working and volunteering with the local American Heart Association on many events and programs over the years,” said Granatiero. “I am passionate about helping the organization continue to raise awareness of heart health in our area, which is incredibly important given that cardiovascular diseases and stroke are the number one causes of death in Southern New England in both men and women. My goal is to help the American Heart Association move the mission forward and save lives.

Granatiero has a background in business, creating in 2006 the nationally recognized Savory Grape Wine Shop and in 2012 The Savory Affair event planning firm. She has rich experience in events, for large multi-national corporations, small intimate dinners, corporate team building events and charity galas.

Before becoming an entrepreneur, Granatiero helped national and regional clients with their public relations and communication campaigns holding positions at Feinstein Kean Healthcare in Cambridge, MA, and Hill & Knowlton Strategies (then Hill & Knowlton Public Relations) in Washington, DC, both WPP companies.

“We are so pleased to have Jessica as our incoming Chair,” stated Victoria Smith, Executive Director for the American Heart Association in Southern New England, “Her outstanding business background, combined with her local connections, passion and skill will help us increase our reach and educate even more Southern New Englanders on proper heart health.”

Granatiero has received the Top 40 Under 40 award by Providence Business News which honors the region’s most successful people under 40 years of age. Granatiero has also served on the Board of Directors of the Leading Women of Southeastern New England. She holds a BA in communications, magna cum laude, and a MA in psychology.
