The best thing about Thanksgiving weekend is back – Main Street Association’s 4th Annual Hill and Harbour Turkey Trot. It takes place Saturday, Nov. 29, giving you a whole day to digest that giant meal you will stomach on Thanksgiving.
Then, gather up everyone in your household and head down to the Varnum Armory, where you can pick up your registration (if you’re smart and register early here), or sign up. There is a 1K kids Fun Run and a 5K for the rest of us. The course wends through downtown East Greenwich, from the Harbour to the Hill and back again.
It’s a great community event and raises money for a good cause. This year’s beneficiary is the Greenwich Odeum nonprofit theater.
“This race has been a huge success in past years and we are thrilled to see it become a part of many families’ Thanksgiving traditions,” said race founders Michelle Clark and Amy Moore of MSA. It’s also been a great way to volunteer. If you are interested in volunteering, contact mcclark10
You can check out the race course here. The 5K begins at 9 a.m., with the Fun Run beginning at 8:30. Find out more here.
