Thursday, Aug. 17
2:56 a.m. – While an EGPD officer was on a routine security check at the Frenchtown Elementary school, the officer noticed a small fire coming from the gate near the rear of the ball fields. The officer found the portable toilet had been burnt and was down to a pile of plastic and ash. A tree near the portable toilet had also burned. Part of the gate was charred and was smoldering. EGFD was called to put out the fire.
2:56 a.m. – After the fire was put out at Frenchtown Elementary School the officer noticed graffiti on the school building – including a swastika and a phallic symbol – and two shattered windows.
Friday, Aug. 18
11:16 a.m. – A resident of Brookside Drive went to the police station to report that his power tools had been stolen from inside of his work van sometime between 11 p.m. Aug. 17 and 6 a.m. Aug. 18. He told police that his work van was parked in the road under a street light in front of his house and that the door lock was broken. The following tools were missing from the van: an Echo chain saw, a Porter Cable finish gun, a Bostitch nail gun, and a Makita circular saw. He placed the total estimated value at $860.
12:41 p.m. – Another Brookside Drive resident reported his power tools had been stolen from his work van at 3 p.m. Thursday. He told police that the van was parked in his driveway and was unlocked. The tools that are reported missing are everything from high-end nail guns to circular saws to drill bits. He estimated the tools to be worth over $3000.
Sunday, Aug. 20
2:05 p.m. – Police officers were called to Kenson Drive for a report of suspicious activity. A resident told police said his two trailers had been broken into but nothing had been taken.
