The EGHS Boys Lacrosse team won its fourth DII state championship in a row Sunday afternoon, defeating South Kingstown 14-6. Freshman Brendan Jordan scored 5 goals and fellow freshman Mitchell Gemma had 15 saves on goal. Senior John Feeney and Sophomore Ross Trinque each scored three goals. The Boys Volleyball team advanced to the DII finals after a close 3-2 win over Cranston West Sunday evening. They will play Tolman in the state final on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Providence Career and Technical High School.
And, in Girls Softball action, the Avengers defeated Scituate 5-1, to advance to the quarter finals against St. Raphaels Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Rhode Island College.
In Boys Baseball, the Avengers must win against Barrington Monday to stay alive, after a 10-9 loss to Cumberland Friday. The Monday game will be at EGHS.
