M. Carl Heintzelman

Carl Heintzelman, 74, of North Kingstown, peacefully passed away January 11, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Lisa (Saccoccio) Heintzelman. Born in Sunbury, Pa., he was the son of the late Merritt C. and Thelma (Schnyder) Heintzelman.

Mr. Heintzelman was in the insurance business for more than 50 years and was the owner and operator of the former Insurance Brokerage Services of Warwick. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, served on the State of Rhode Island Pension Board for nine years and dedicated much of his time to various organizations to make the world a better place. He was also an avid golfer.

He loved his family, his golf and his Dewars. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Maximilian C. Heintzelman, Eric Heintzelman and Deb Fabrizio; grandchildren, Jacqueline and Joseph Fabrizio, and a sister, Janice O’Pezio. He was the brother of the late Delores Ross.

The funeral is Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may made to the ALS Association, RI Chapter, 2915 Post Rd., Warwick, RI 02886.
