Karen A. Bradshaw, 69, of East Greenwich, peacefully passed away at home, May 20, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, John E. “Jack” Bradshaw, III.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Jemma (Berardenelli) Ayers. For the last 12 years Karen worked as a medical secretary for Women’s Internal Medicine on South County Trail. When not at work she was caring for her grandchildren. Her favorite “office” was the beach. She enjoyed knitting, writing poetry, painting, cooking and most especially family and friends. She was a strong, generous woman whose laughter was contagious and whose humor healed. She will be missed but never forgotten.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her children John Bradshaw IV and his wife Samantha, Tara Mernick and her husband Michael, Audra Bradshaw and her husband Jason Admire, Matthew Bradshaw and his wife Caroline, Mark Bradshaw and his wife Katie and Nathan Bradshaw and his wife Rebecca; 12 grandchildren, Payton, Allie and Gwen Bradshaw, Earl and Elliot Mernick, Max and Andi Admire, Cecilia Bradshaw and Matthew Bradshaw, Jr., Mark, Jr., and Jameson Bradshaw and Carter Bradshaw and her brother, Earl “Champ” Ayers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, May 28, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich. Contributions in her name may be made to the KAB Children Recreational Memorial Fund (KABCRMF) c/o Centerville Bank, East Greenwich Branch, 495 Main St., East Greenwich, R.I. 02818. This fund will help to restore Ma’s Tot Lot on James Street and fund future sport scholarships and local children’s organizations in need.
