Obituary: Flora A. O’Connell

Flora A. O’Connell passed away at the home of her son, June 7. She was the wife of the late John A. “Jack” O’Connell, Jr.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Elvira (Piotti) DeLisi. Mrs. O’Connell had worked at Trifari Jewelry, Oil Well Labor Crews and most recently, Rocky Hill School. After her retirement she volunteered at the Rhode Island Food Bank and the North Kingstown Library.

She enjoyed gardening, traveling, Scrabble and playing cards at the North Kingstown Senior Center, where she had been a member. She is survived by a son, John A. O’Connell III, and his wife Cheryl of Norton, Mass., and a sister, Ann E. DeLisi. Her funeral service will be Thursday, June 12, at noon at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:30 to noon. Burial will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
