Doreen E. (Carter) McCall, 87, of Shippeetown Road, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at home. She was the wife of the late Alfred E. McCall (retired chief of police for the Town of East Greenwich) for 55 years.
She was born in New Bedford, Mass., the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (O’Neill) Carter.
Doreen leaves a son, Michael W. McCall and his wife, Debra, of East Greenwich; two daughters, Sharon M. Braitsch and her husband, William, of East Greenwich and Lynn Henderson of East Providence, seven grandchildren, Michael W. McCall, Jr., Christopher K. McCall, Andrew C. McCall, Matthew K. Braitsch, Allary O. Braitsch, Shannon M. Matteson and Mark C. Matteson; four great grandchildren, Owen McCall, Isla McCall, Saxon Buczek and Dylan Matteson. She was the sister of the late Bernard Carter and Patricia Burke Gauthier.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mercy Church, Fourth Ave, East Greenwich, to which relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 1085 North Main St., Providence, R.I. 02904, in her memory would be appreciated.
