Andrew Miner, salutatorian for the EGHS Class of 2014 among other things, was named the Providence Journal’s Honor Roll boy, only the fourth East Greenwich High School student to earn that honor.

“The combination of academic and athletic excellence, along with his extensive involvement in the East Greenwich High community, has earned Miner selection as the 2014 Providence Journal Honor Roll Boy, the award given annually to the outstanding Rhode Island male student-athlete of all graduating Rhode Island high school students. He becomes the fourth East Greenwich student to be named Honor Roll Boy in the 88-year history of the award,” wrote the Projo’s John Gillooly.

Miner, who heads for Harvard in September and will try to walk on to the university’s football team, joins previous EGHS Honor Roll boys Richard Billings (1996), Timothy Burbridge (2002), and Pratik Chougule (2004). Congratulations, Andrew!
