Man w/EG Ties Arrested For Illegal Grow Operation

by | Jul 20, 2019

Marshall Muir, 39, of Warwick and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., was arrested Wednesday by police in Attleboro, Mass., for allegedly running a 143-plant indoor marijuana operation in that city. Muir is part owner in Kai Bar, a bar-restaurant on Main Street. In 2018, Muir applied unsuccessfully to open a hookah bar at 205 Main Street.

“This news is very unfortunate,” said Kai Bar managing partner Jason Kindness. “He has no place in the day-to-day operations,” Kindness noted.

Arraigned in Attleboro District Court Thursday, Muir pleaded innocent of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and conspiracy to violate drug laws. He was released on $2,500 cash bail.

Marijuana is legal in Massachusetts but individuals can only grow up to 6 plants in their home or 12 plants for two or more adults.
