Main Street Closed for Thursday’s Stroll

by | Aug 20, 2019

The annual Taste of East Greenwich Stroll on Main Street takes place Thursday (8/22) and the big difference with this stroll is that Main Street will be closed to cars between Queen and King streets between 4:30 and 8:30 p.m.

The popular stroll features a number of EG restaurants offering free samples of their fare up and down Main Street. According to the EG Chamber of Commerce, which organizes the strolls, no one had to stroll hungry at this stroll! Just keep in mind, while the stroll goes from 5 to 8 p.m., some restaurants may run out of food before 8.

And be warned: there will also be a parking pan between King and Queen streets Thursday between 2 and 9 p.m. and police will be towing violators. The waterfront will be accessible via King Street for southbound cars and Rocky Hollow Road for northbound traffic. In addition to detour signs, EGPD will be on hand to help direct traffic.
