Let’s Discuss! ‘EG Today & Tomorrow’

Sometimes it’s good to step back and look at your town, taking in all the good things, imagining a few others, and maybe coming to terms with a few things that are less than perfect.

On Monday, Nov. 18, you’ve got a chance to do just that, at “East Greenwich Today & Tomorrow: Identifying Issues, Exploring Possibilities,” at the Greenwich Odeum Theatre, presented by EG News and the EG Chamber of Commerce.

The free event – thanks to generous sponsors BankNewport, Dave’s Marketplace, and Residential Properties – will feature EG Town Manager Andy Nota, Grow Smart RI’s Scott Wolf, EG Chamber of Commerce’s Steve Lombardi, and EG Town Planner Lisa Bourbonnais. Moderator for the evening will be Chuck Hinman, East Greenwich resident and morning host for The Public’s Radio.

East Greenwich has a bustling downtown, in-demand schools, and a healthy real estate market. Sounds good, doesn’t it?

But what about improving access to the waterfront? Adding bike lanes? Keeping EG affordable for retirees? And … what about parking?

Do we have a good enough mix of retail and restaurants on Main Street? Is South County Trail becoming a traffic nightmare? Have we taken enough advantage of New England Tech? How do we make sure we keep some open space in the midst of a building boomlet?

When you start to dream, there’s no end to the possibilities, and questions. This forum is a starting poing, but we need community input. We need you to come! And we want your voice. There will be opportunities during the forum to give you thoughts.

So, here’s what you do: register and let us know you’re coming! Click here. If you have a question or idea about East Greenwich, leave it in the comments here or send it to [email protected].
