After making up a 14-0 deficit at the half and pulling ahead 15-14, with less than five minutes left in the fourth quarter East Greenwich could taste a Super Bowl victory, but it wasn’t to be. The Middletown Islanders drove 70 yards for a touchdown, the lead and the game, winning the Division 3 state title 22-15 at Cranston Stadium Sunday afternoon, Dec. 7.
