The Main Street Association’s 8th annual East Greenwich Turkey Trot is Nov. 30 – the Saturday after Thanksgiving, as usual, so you can run off that second slice of pie you couldn’t resist.
The 5K race (and 1 mile fun run) has become a celebration of family, friends and small town living. In addition to the races, there will be music, crafts, and refreshments. This year’s beneficiary is the Avenger Booster Club, which supports EGHS sports programs.
“We have covered many different organizations that all do amazing things,” said event co-founder and organizer Amy Moore. Indeed, over the years, the Turkey Trot has benefitted Citizens Who Care, and the EG Animal Protection League, among others.
“This race has become a family Thanksgiving tradition for so many,” Moore said.
And, after the race, Small Business Saturday will be in full swing on Main Street and beyond, as well as all the wonderful eateries to refuel.
