Farewells to Mr. Bob, Mrs. Foley & Nurse Bonk

by | Jun 19, 2019

The School Committee said thank you to three retiring staff members: Bob Coutu, custodian (and mayor) of Meadowbrook Farms Elementary; Sharon Foley, district social worker; and Peggy Bonk, nurse for the high school. Here are videos from each commendation, including an extra video from Mr. Bob with his predictions for next year’s “snow” days.

On a personal note, my son James was a student at EGHS through last year and his health issues made him a regular in the nurse’s office. When I would stop by Mrs. Bonk’s office to pick up James or just to chat, I was always amazed at her ability to be there for so many different students. Clearly, she was someone students wanted to talk to, whether they were sick or not. Thanks, Mrs. Bonk, for being there for students like James, with serious health concerns, and for everyone else, especially those who just needed a friendly face once in a while.

Good luck to Bob, Sharon and Peggy. You will all be missed!
