Join us for a conversation with Lorena Pugh, Juror, 2019 Winter’s Eve 9th Annual Juried Art Exhibition.

153 entries were received. Twenty-six makeup the exhibition. On opening night, Lorena said, “What you see on the walls is a representation of the quality and diversity this Winter’s Eve call brought forth from RI, CT, MA and NY. I felt as a judge, my job was to choose the best works regardless of how they would hang together.” We know there’s more to the story. Come listen as Lorena shares her expertise, explains how the participants of the current exhibition were selected and the decisions made during the installation, as well as answers our questions.

Working in oils as a contemporary realist, Lorena has received a number of national and international awards. She earned a BFA from Pratt Institute and attended classes at the Art Students League, the School of Visual Arts and Rhode Island School of Design. Lorena has recently finished a two-year project to produce a body of work relating to Narragansett Bay. The project culminated in a show at Dryden Gallery in Providence RI this October, with partial proceeds going to an environmental group for the bay. She is also represented by Renjeau Gallery in Boston; Coastal Contemporary Gallery in Newport R.I., and PS Gallery in Litchfield, Conn.
