Elementary Students Lauded For Work On EG History Web Page

by | Sep 25, 2014

The Town Council commended members of Jennifer Iannuccilli’s 2013-14 third grade class Monday night for the students’ part in helping build a web page on EG history for the Town of East Greenwich’s website. The students researched many of the town’s historic buildings.

Each student – now fourth graders – received a written commendation from the Town Council.

The East Greenwich Land Trust, together with the Town of East Greenwich and the Iannuccilli third graders, worked on this project. The goal was to bring history of the town’s landmark sites to a wider audience. In addition to the page on the town’s website, those who are interested can find a QR code to scan with their smartphone at East Greenwich Town or Land Trust-owned properties that will provide online historical information about that site. The link is as follows: http://www.eastgreenwichri.com/AboutEastGreenwich/HistoryandBirthplaceoftheNavy/tabid/174/Default.aspx.

Good for Ms. Iannucilli for teaching history to her class. This is not happening in other communities and it is so important!
