The EGHS girls basketball team started off strong against St. Raphael’s Monday night, scoring 10 unanswered points in the first 5 minutes but St. Raph’s came back strong scoring the next 15 to lead 15 to 10. The rest of the first half would see St. Raph’s having a slight advantage until the end when the Avengers rallied to end the first half tied at 19.
In the second half, St. Raph’s started to gain the advantage and with 7:53 left in the game led by 7 with the score 34 to 27. EG with the help of missed free throws after intentional fouls by St. Raph’s came to within 2 (44 to 42) with 6.3 seconds left on the clock but in the end St. Raphael prevailed with a final of 46 to 43.
