Friday, March 13

Teen Center: Sponsored by the Town of East Greenwich and the Town Substance Abuse Program, the Teen Center is a weekly drop-in location for teens to gather and “hang out” with other teens. At the gymnasium at Eldredge Elementary. For more information, contact Bob Houghtaling at 401-230-2246.

EGHS Talent Show: East Greenwich High School proudly presents its annual Talent Show. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door. Come celebrate the talents of over 60 EGHS students in this outstanding community event. In the EGHS auditorium at 7 p.m.

Donations sought for Carrie Mac Memorial Garden: The Carrie Mac Memorial Garden donations are still being accepted. Organizers said they are getting close to their goal but are looking for a few more donations to put them over the top. You can read more about the effort here. If you would like to donate, please stop by the Guidance Office and see Barb or Sherry or mail your donation to the East Greenwich High School, 300 Avenger Drive, East Greenwich, RI 02818 ATTN: Guidance Department, Sherry or Barb.

Saturday, March 14

Clown Town! The Greenwich Bay Women’s Club’s 50th (!) annual Clown Town takes place today at St. Luke’s. The event is geared to children ages 2 to 12 but is a favorite of kids of all ages. Admission is free. Game tickets are 50 cents each and raffle tickets are $1. All the money raised goes toward helping people in West Bay communities. Volunteers (6th grader or older) needed – contact Linda Mensinger Nunez at 884-6247. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sunday, March 15

EG Animal Protection League open house: Every Sunday, the EGAPL opens its doors so people can meet the dogs and cats in need of permanent homes. You can find videos of some of the animals available for adoption here. EG Animal Hospital, 4302 Post Road, Cowesett. 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Looking ahead

Wine and Wonderful: The Rotary Club of East Greenwich’s annual “Wine and Wonderful Extravaganza” is coming up on March 20th at Swift Community Center. It’s a great night with food sampling from several great East Greenwich restaurants, gourmet beer and wine tasting, games, music and fun for all. This year they are unveiling a new format, with raffles, a “wine grab,” our popular heads-and-tails game and more. Tickets and/or tables can be reserved online.
