Friday, Dec. 5

Heritage Art Gallery & Glass Studio Open House: Heritage is holding its Holiday Open House tonight. Everything is 20 percent off and 10 percent of your purchase will be donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. There will be refreshments and music and do some shopping. From  from 5 to 8.

Saturday, Dec. 6

Christmas at the Castle: Peaceful, Easy Feeling – Christmas Customs of the 17th and 18th Centuries offers the holidays the way they were meant to be at Smith’s Castle in nearby North Kingstown. Find more information on their website here. 55 Richard Smith Drive (off Post Road, north of Wickford), from noon to 4 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

Open Studios at Shady Lea Mill: It’s the 17th Annual Open Studios weekend at Shady Lea Mill in North Kingstown. If you’ve never been, it’s both a great opportunity to get beautiful, locally made holiday gifts and a happening, with live music, glass blowing demonstrations, food and drink and just an all-together good vibe. Oh, and did I mention it’s in a very cool old mill on the banks of the Mattatuxet River. Find out more here: http://www.themillatshadylea.com/. From noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Toy Drive at American Legion: Plenty of Singles Dance Party group is holding a toy drive at the American Legion Post 15 on Main Street. The event will feature face painting, karaoke, pictures with Santa, arts and crafts, and balloon creations. Additionally, the group will be collecting new toys for Toys for Tots. The children event runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

 

Sunday, Dec. 7

Holiday Bazaar: Westminster Unitarian Church is holding a Holiday Bazaar featuring crafts, gift books and baked goods, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. 119 Kenyon Ave.

EG Animal Protection League open house: Every Sunday, the EGAPL opens its doors so people can meet the dogs and cats in need of permanent homes. You can find videos of some of the animals available for adoption here. EG Animal Hospital, 4302 Post Road, Cowesett. 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

EG Football in Super Bowl: The Avengers will take on the Middletown Islanders at Cranston Stadium at noon for the Division III championship. Go Avengers!
