Friday, June 6

Goddard Park Farmers Market: The farmers market at Goddard Park is open for the season (through Halloween). Here’s more information about the market and vendors. Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Rocky Hill School Graduation: Commencement ceremonies begin at 10 a.m. Congratulations to the RHS Class of 2014!

Ivy Day: A tradition at East Greenwich High School where the seniors get one last school assembly. Lots of picturesque pomp and circumstance, minus the tassels. For the rest of the student body, it’s a short school day.

Teen Center: The gymnasium at Eldredge Elementary is open most every Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. for teenagers looking to shoot some hoops or some bull. All are welcome. To learn more, check out the F.A.C.E.S. website here.

Saturday, June 7

Growing, Preserving & Cooking w/Herbs: The Friends of the EG Free Library have teamed up with the Cindy-Wood Garden Club, this one all about herbs. Gardening consultant Paul Split will demonstrate how to grow, preserve and cook with herbs, as well as show how to make a beautiful and useful hanging herb basket, and will serve a delicious salad made with organic herbs. At the EG Free Library. 2 p.m.

Hey Nineteen @ Odeum: Steely Dan tribute band Hey Nineteen rocked the Odeum when it appeared last year for its first public gig and now its back! The group consists of top Rhode Island talent in Rhode Island. Come out to hear your favorite SD tunes, including Kid Charlemagne, My Old School, Pretzel Logic, Reeling in the Years, Babylon Sisters, and FM (No Static at All). 8 p.m. Buy tickets and find out more here.

Sunday, June 1

EG Animal Protection League open house: Every Sunday, the EGAPL opens its doors so people can meet the dogs and cats in need of permanent homes. You can find videos of some of the animals available for adoption here. At a NEW LOCATION: EG Animal Hospital, 4302 Post Road. 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

EGHS Graduation: The Class of 2014 graduation ceremonies take place at Veterans Memorial Auditorium at 1 p.m. Congratulations!

Kids Chess Club: Symposium Books hosts a Chess Club for children ages 7 to 14 every Sunday, taught by chess master Joe Martin. The first session is free. 1000 Division Street (near Panera). 1 p.m.
