EG Weekend: Arts Fest, David-Max Yard Sale

Saturday, Aug. 23

East Greenwich Arts Festival: The 4th Annual EG Arts Festival takes place Saturday and Sunday at New England Tech. More than 150 contemporary Amarican arts and crafts artists will be displaying their work, along with strolling entertainment including Rhode Island’s Big Nazo puppets. There will be a childrens art area too. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

David-Max Parking Lot Sale: David-Max is holding a parking lot sale Saturday, with furniture, home decor, accessories and more on sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Moosehorn Yard Sale: A gigantic yard sale at 340 Moosehorn Road, with furniture, toys, children’s items, sporting goods, household items, Halloween decor and more. 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Singles Mingle @ Symposium: Try Symposium Books’s weekly “Singles Mingle” from 5 to 7 p.m. 

Sunday, Aug. 24

EG Animal Protection League open house: Every Sunday, the EGAPL opens its doors so people can meet the dogs and cats in need of permanent homes. You can find videos of some of the animals available for adoption here. EG Animal Hospital, 4302 Post Road, Cowesett. 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Author Matt Keefer @ Symposium: Poet and short story writer Matt Keefer, author of The Keeper of Dreams, will be at Symposium Books, 1000 Division St., at 3 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 25

EG Farmers Market’s ‘Dog Days of Summah!’: Calling all four-footed friends, the market – here every Monday afternoon into October – is holding a special Dog Days this Monday, Aug. 25. From 3 to 6 p.m. at Academy Field. Read more about the market here.

East Greenwich Little League Fall Ball signup: EG Junior/Senior Fall Ball registration is open at EGLLRI.com, for players age 12 to 16. (League age is as of 4/30/14). The season runs from the end of August to mid-October, with one game on a weeknight and one on a weekend. Football anyone? The season starts next week, but NK Jaguars still have space in the 5 to 7 and 12 to 14 age ranges. The Jaguars have adopted the Head’s Up Football program this year, to help keeps players safe. For more information, contact Paul Zarrella, 741-6749 or [email protected].

EG Hoops registration: Registration for the 2014/2015 East Greenwich Basketball Association season has begun! To register, visit www.eghoops.com and click on the registration tab on the right side of the page. Any returning player should have their information already in the system and only need to answer a few consent questions and pay the registration fee.
