Tuesday, Feb. 10

One-Hour School Delay: To give everyone just a little more time to deal with the snow.

Special Ed Advisory Committee meeting: This group meets monthly in the Superintendent’s Conference Room at the school department, 111 Peirce St. Newcomers welcome. 5:30 p.m.

School Committee Budget Workshop: The panel will review the individual athletics, technology and administration budgets as well as the overall fiscal year 2016 budget. Here’s the agenda. In the library at Cole Middle School (2nd floor), at 6:30 p.m.

Greenwich Bay Women’s Club meeting: The group meets on the second Tuesday of the month. This month, they will be preparing for the 50th (!) Annual Clown Town, which takes place Saturday, March 14. The group is committed to working together to make a difference in local communities. There is no age or residency requirement to join and meetings are open so newcomers are always welcome! Wednesday, Feb. 11

School Committee Policy Subcommittee Meeting: The panel will meet in the Superintendent’s Conference Room at 7:30 a.m. You’ll find the agenda here.

EG-Cowesett New Neighbors meeting: Guest speaker Courtney Grady-Calcione of David-Max on Main Street, will demonstrate how to revamp a room by making something old new again. She will show how to refinish an old piece of furniture and other ways to make a room pop. At the EG United Methodist Church, 1558 South County Trail. 9:30 a.m.

Lunch on the Hill: Every Wednesday in the dining room at St. Luke’s, 99 Peirce St., lunch is served for all in need, from 11:15 to 12:15. In addition to St. Luke’s, Our Lady of Mercy, Christ Church and Westminister Unitarian churches have all taken on a Wednesday to serve the meal and local restaurants Jiggers, Wild Harvest, Crosby’s Cafe, and T’s take turns providing the food. ​Talking with Teens forum: The first half of this program will feature a youth presentation regarding hot topics for teens followed by a Q&A session. The second half will be youth-led focus groups, where community members will interact with high school students identify and offer potential solutions to problems facing young people. Historic District Commission meeting: The HDC meets in Council Chambers at Town Hall. Here’s that agenda. 6 p.m.
