Happy President’s Day! But even though it’s a national holiday, trash pickup is NOT delayed this week.
Weather: There’s not much to say except boy, it’s cold outside! Low temperatures in the single digits will dog us through the week. The good news? We are on the downhill with this month and March means spring!
Tuesday, Feb. 17
Sen. Whitehouse Community Dinner: Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse holds community dinners to listen to local residents’ concerns and take questions. Coventry High School, 40 Reservoir Road, Coventry. 6 to 8 p.m.
Library 100th Anniversary Committee meeting: The group will meet today. Newcomers are welcome. Tickets for the lighthouse cruise are ready and they will be discussing other activities. 1:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Feb. 18
Ash Wednesday: The first day of Lent in the Christian calendar.
School Committee Tech Advisory meeting: The panel will meet in the Superintendent’s conference room at 7:30 a.m. to discuss options for recording School Committee meetings. The agenda is attached.
Foster Parent Info Session: Family Service of R.I. is holding a Foster Parent Information Open House, 137 Thurbers Ave., Providence.
