The East Greenwich Housing Authority has been holding a holiday party for the past five years at Potowomut Golf Club, much to the delight of the public housing residents who attend. EGHA Director Marcia Sullivan isn’t sure who it is, but said a member of Potowomut has been donating the breakfast these past years.
This year, 63 children were in attendance Sunday. After the buffet breakfast, a magician performed, then it was time for Santa. Children were called up one-by-one to visit with the big man and receive a gift.
“We get lots of donations from businesses and individuals and we buy all the Santa gifts,” said Sullivan. “It is great. It costs us nothing. And I have some of these kids, they’re getting a little older now – they love coming here. They ask me about it.”
Here are some photos from the event.
