International Idol 2014: Every year, the foreign language department at East Greenwich High School presents its version of American Idol – International Idol. It’s fun, funny and an awesome way to feel good about our youth. A $5 donation is requested to benefit refugees of the Syrian conflict. EGHS auditorium at 6:30 p.m.

Friday, March 7

Cole Global Studies Lecture Series: Rosemary Mahoney will be at Cole Middle School Friday evening to speak about her book, For the Benefit of Those Who See, Dispatches From the World of the Blind, a nonfiction book about her travels to schools for the blind in India and Tibet. The lecture begins at 6:30 p.m. and a question-and-answer segment will follow. Free.
