Cole 8th Graders Graduate, ‘Making History’

by | Jun 20, 2014

Graduation for the eighth grade class of Cole Middle School Class of 2014 was marked by the distinction that this class was the first to complete its three years in the new Cole building, which opened in April 2011. It was a distinction of which Principal Alexis Meyer would often remind them, as she did one last time at Thursday’s graduation.

Emily Adams and Laura Murphy received PTG Scholarship awards. John DelBonis and Lauren Lake received Cole Achievement awards. Jonathan Padrazo and Cole Campbell received ARC awards. Sophie Barreto and Emily Adams were named the East Greenwich Teachers Association Outstanding Students. Laura Murphy also won the Williams College Book Award.

Class President Michael Sack combined humor and a bit of nostalgia in his address while Principal Meyer praised the class.

“I want you to know – it’s you, really, who have made a difference in all of our lives,” she said, before reminding them to “be kind to one another,” one last time.

Congratulations, Cole Class of 2014! Here are some pictures:
