Town Councilman Brad Bishop

Charges against Town Councilman Brad Bishop were dismissed by District Court Judge William Clifton Friday, March 28. Bishop was arrested and charged with domestic assault and disorderly conduct – both misdemeanors – after an argument with his wife Sunday evening, March 9.

According to the court, the victim declined to testify, citing her Fifth Amendment privilege.

Johnston Town Solicitor Frank Saccoccia handled the arraignment for EG Town Solicitor Peter Clarkin, who recused himself because of his service to the Town Council.

Bishop, 56, was elected to the Town Council in November 2012. He did not respond to a request for a comment.
