Cards, Bracelets for Gianna Cirella and Family

by | Oct 23, 2017

Gianna Cirella, daughter of EG Deputy Police Chief Skip Cirella.

It started with a sore throat for 16-year-old Gianna Cirella, daughter of East Greenwich Deputy Police Chief Stanley “Skip” Cirella and a junior soccer goalie at Toll Gate. One week ago, on Oct. 16, Gianna was admitted to the hospital. She remains at Hasbro still, dealing with sepsis, a dire blood infection. She has lost part of one leg to the disease and is in a medically induced coma.

Many of us want to do something for Gianna and her family. There is a GoFundMe page raising money to help cover medical bills. And extended family members have made up bracelets with “G Strong #12” – you can get one for a donation of $2 by calling Bryan at (401) 829-6866 or emailing Jennifer at [email protected].

Police Chief Stephen Brown said the family is spending most of their time at the hospital, and Gianna is in the ICU so flowers and other items are not recommended right now.

But we could shower Gianna and her family with cards. If you’d like to send a card, drop it off at the police station. Remember – only cards right now. And keep up your hopes, thoughts and prayers for Gianna, her sister Cassie, Skip, and his wife Tara.
