A Season’s Wish

by | Dec 19, 2014

We are presently in the midst of the holiday season. People across the world consider these days an opportunity to reflect upon spirit, family and relations with others. It is a powerful time. It is a beautiful time. It is also a time when we seek balance between old traditions and new hopes for mankind.

In many ways, December’s cold encourages the warmth of togetherness as many gather in their homes to celebrate. The short days also bring forth nights filled with TV specials, socializing and candlelight. Opposites drawn together often create such simple beauty. In recognition of this, let us not forget those we have difficulty understanding or who may appear to be different. Keep them in your thoughts if not your hearts. Perhaps in doing so, a door might open where an opportunity for understanding can ensue. You will probably find that they were not so different after all.

A new year is just around the corner. Hopefully, this child upon the horizon will bring a greater sense of peace on earth. We all play major roles in how this is to come about. My simple wish for you all, Happy Holidays.

The World

The world is big.
The world is wide,
where billions of people do reside.

It’s so easy
to feel quite small,
if that’s the way you look at it all.

Take a brief moment,
’tis but a start.
Look for the truth deep in your heart.

We are a family,
brothers and sisters on earth.
Each of us of incredible worth.

So for this season
please keep in mind,
“Do unto others” – always be kind.
