Wednesday, Oct. 1

EG Free Library board meeting: The library’s board of trustees will meet at 4 p.m. to discuss long-range plans. 82 Peirce St.

Cove Commission meeting: The panel meets at 4:30 in the conference room across from Council Chambers, Town Hall. Find the agenda here.

Frenchtown Elementary open house: If your child’s a student at Frenchtown Elementary, then head to the school for 6 p.m.

Halloween costume drive: The All Children Matter club at EGHS is holding a used Halloween costume drive, together with DCYF and Foster Foward. Bring your gently used costumes to the high school front entrance through Oct. 13. They are also collecting pajamas, coats and other winter items through Dec. 5. EG Basketball Association 2014-15 registration: Register by the end of September and fees will be the same as last year. On October 1st, a late fee of $25 will be added to each registration. Registration closes Friday, October 17th. To register, go to eghoops.com and click on the Registration tab.

Register for next historic cemetery cleanup: The EG Historic Cemetery Commission has just come off the heels of a successful September cleanup, grateful to over 60 volunteers. If you want to join the next cleanup – Saturday, Oct. 18, 9 a.m. to noon – sign up now. Contact [email protected] to sign up or for more information.

Thursday, Oct. 2

Cole Middle School open house: If your child’s a student at Cole, then head to the school for 6 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 3

Goddard Park Farmers Market: Among the vendors at the Goddard Park market, several farmers, bakers (both for humans and dogs!), crafts, fish and poultry. Fridays through Oct. 31. 375 Ives Road. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 4

Blessing of the Animals: St. Luke’s is holding a blessing of the animals, with music thrown in. Jacqueline Devillers and friends will perform animal-inspired music and pets will be blessed, rain or shine, at St. Luke’s, 99 Peirce St. Donations for the EG Animal Protection League will be collected. 10:30 a.m.

Sunday, Oct. 5

Last Day to Register for Nov. 4 Election: The Town Clerk’s office is open 1 to 4 p.m. today for voter registration. Enter from Peirce Street.

EG Animal Protection League open house: Every Sunday, the EGAPL opens its doors so people can meet the dogs and cats in need of permanent homes. You can find videos of some of the animals available for adoption here. EG Animal Hospital, 4302 Post Road, Cowesett. 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
